Students from St Mark’s and The Green School have just successfully completed week long work experience placements at primary schools in the Bayeux area. As well as seeing their language skills and confidence in using French improve, all the students received glowing reports from the primary school headteachers. Congratulations to everyone involved! All over Normandy, the apple harvest has been in full swing. The contribution to the harvest at Le Clos has been somewhat modest in quantity, but exceptionally tasty in flavour.

At the nearby Parc Naturel in Cotentin many different species of bird make their homes over the summer – including dozens of storks. Our intrepid group of Kew botanists beat a path to them earlier this month.

These six little swallows fledglings – living in the courtyard at Le Clos – are letting us know that they’re staying for the season…
